Election of a unitary councillor for the Bishop's Castle Division

A vacancy arose in the Bishop's Castle Division of Shropshire Council following the resignation of Peter Phillips and a written request was received asking for an election to be held. A poll took place on 29 September 2011 and the results were as follows:-

• BARNES, Charlotte Ann (Liberal Democrats) - 801 votes
• ELLIS, Georgiana Louise Dacre (The Conservative Party) - 544 votes
• GRAY, Jean (The Labour Party Candidate) - 80 votes
• TUCKER, Michael Richard (The Green Party Candidate) - 74 votes

CHARLOTTE ANN BARNES was therefore duly elected as Unitary Councillor for the Bishop's Castle Division.
