Room hire at the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre

Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre has rooms available for individuals, groups and businesses to hire.

Our facilities really are something different - escape to the countryside to get more out of your meetings, hold your club gathering here and get the benefit of the cafe and meadows instead of just a room. Our modern, light and airy rooms can be complemented by tasty refreshments from the cafe.

Facilities
Our meeting rooms can accommodate 22 people board room style or 30 theatre style.
The cafe is also available by special arrangements and can accommodate 70 people cafe style or 110 theatre style.
If you wanted to make use of the meadows with marquees for an event this is also possible.

Room hire charges
Daytime rates:
Half day - 9.00am - 1.00pm or 1.00pm - 5.00pm (or any part thereof) £40.00
Full day - 9.00am - 5.00pm (or any part thereof) £75.00
Evening rates:
5.00pm - 9.00pm £50 or 5.00pm - 10.00pm £65
Discounts for charities and community groups who wish to use the Centre but cannot afford the standard rate, are available, please contact us.

Catering charges
The cafe can cater for almost any taste, so if you have something particular in mind please ask us. Prices of our standard refreshments follow, these would normally be served to your group in the meeting room.
Tea and coffee: £1.00 / head / service
Tea, coffee and biscuits: £1.75 / head / service
Buffet lunch: £4.95 / head
The buffet includes a selection of open sandwiches, quiche and sausage rolls, a selection of cakes and tea, coffee, water, orange juice. Vegetarian options are included as standard.

Equipment
The following equipment is available at no extra cost when a room is hired: Slide projector, Projector screen, White board, OHP, Flipchart.

Data protection statement
Shropshire County Council will hold the information you provide in accordance with the Data protection Act 1998 and will only use it for the purpose of processing your room availability enquiry. It will be retained for a maximum of 1 year, from the receipt of this enquiry.
