Surface water management plans

Having completed the Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment for Shropshire, we are now looking into the areas flagged that require further investigation. In some areas, a Surface Water Management Plan (SWMP) is required.

A SWMP is a detailed investigation into local sources of flood risk such as small watercourses, piped drainage systems and overland flow routes. We use the information gathered during the SWMP process to help us plan work, apply for funding, and update flood risk maps. During the SWMP process we work closely with other organisations such as the Environment Agency, Severn Trent Water and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water.

A number of SWMPs are complete or are ongoing, and are available via the links on this page.
