Drug and Alcohol Action Team - Support Team

The Shropshire Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) partnership is supported by a small team.

DAAT Team Leader (Safer Communities Team)
Based at Shropshire County Council, the DAAT Coordinator helps coordinate the work undertaken within the partnership to ensure the successful implementation of the National Drug and Alcohol Strategies within Shropshire.

DAAT Research and Information Officer
Based at Shropshire County Council, the Research and Information Officer develops information sources such as the DAAT's newsletter UpDATe and conducts detailed research within each of Shropshire's five districts.

DAAT Service User Development Worker
Based at Shropshire County Council, the Service User Development Worker supports drug and alcohol service users to get involved in the work of the Drug and Alcohol Action Team Partnership. Service Users are encouraged to take part in decision making, needs assessment and partnership planning to ensure services best meet the needs of local people.

DAAT Young People and Alcohol Partnership Officer
Based at Shropshire County Council, the work of the Young People and Alcohol Partnership Officer will include identifying, coordinating and evaluating activity to reduce the harmful effects of alcohol misuse among young people in Shropshire.

DAAT Joint Commissioning Manager
Based at Shropshire County Primary Care Trust, the DAAT Commissioner commissions drug and alcohol treatment services in Shropshire, helping to ensure services successfully meet the needs of service users.

MerciaNet North Training Coordinator
Based at Telford and Wrekin Council, the Training Coordinator works with the Drug and Alcohol Action Teams for Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin to deliver substance misuse training for the statutory and voluntary sectors.
