The attached framework on this page is designed to support school self-evaluation and review. It provides a structure to guide schools in asking some key questions about the quality of education being provided. It also helps to provide evidence to support judgements made. The framework is designed so that actions for improvement can also be identified. The framework proforma helps school asks the following questions:

  • How high are standards?
  • How well are pupils’ attitudes, values and other personal qualities developed?
  • How effective are teaching and learning?
  • How well does the curriculum meet pupils’ needs?
  • How well are pupils cared for, guided and supported?
  • How well does the school work in partnership with parents, other schools and the community?
  • How well is the school led and managed?
