What to do if the emergency is a telephone failure

Contact your telephone service provider from another phone, for BT lines:

  • Dial 152 from a land line or 0800 800 152 from a mobile phone (mobile phone charges will apply).
  • Follow the prompts and you will speak to a call taker who will help you with your enquiry.
  • You can alternatively register a fault and check on the progress on-line at www.bt.com.
  • You can also have your incoming calls diverted to another phone, including mobiles should you wish.

If you need to make a 999 call during a Telephone Failure

  • try and make the call from a mobile phone
  • try a neighbour
  • try a phone box
  • go to your nearest Fire or Police station to raise the alarm
  • if the Telephone Failure is widespread, listen to Radio Shropshire as they will be advising if any ‘Emergency Service Contact Points’ will be established in the local area
