Natural environment
Biodiversity and ecology
Advice on biodiversity, ecology and wildlife legislation is provided to all Council departments including planning, highways and property. The Shropshire Biodiversity Action Plan and work of the Shropshire Biodiversity Partnership are co-ordinated by officers hosted by the County Council. Trees and woodland
Shropshire Council manages the safety and maintains trees and woodland on their sites and on primary roads in Shropshire. For further information follow the link on this page.

Landscape
The Landscape Character Assessment (including the Historic Landscape Characterisation) is managed and maintained by Shropshire Council and landscape advice is provided for council departments, particularly planning. The group’s environmental work covers the whole of Shropshire, but the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) also has its own team of experts. They provide advice and management services and run community events and projects. To find out more follow the link on this page.
