The Shropshire Healthy Eating Award is a scheme operated by Shropshire Council's public protection service.
The aim of the award is to encourage restaurants, cafes and other food establishments to offer diners healthy options on their menus.
The Shropshire Healthy Eating Award will be given to premises that satisfy the following criteria:
- Provision and promotion of healthy food choices
- Good standards of food hygiene
- Staff trained in respect of food hygiene
- Breastfeeding friendly (platinum level only)
Under the scheme, premises can receive one of four different levels from Bronze to Platinum.
Customers looking for a healthy choice will be able to identify an award winning venue through window stickers and a certificate on display in the main eating area.
If your catering establishment in Shropshire would like to apply for an award, please contact a member of the Food Safety Team.
