Under the new Shropshire Council, Trading Standards, Environmental Health, Pest Control, Licensing and Bereavement Services will be coming together to form a new department called ‘Public Protection’.
The new teams provide a range of services that help to improve the environment and look after the interests and health of Shropshire residents.
Area Public Protection officers will be available at five locations across the county and you can call in to get help with issues such as licensing, food safety and standards, health and safety and pollution.
- The central team will be based in Shrewsbury and cover the Shrewsbury and Atcham area.
- The north team will be based in Wem and Oswestry and cover the North Shropshire district and Oswestry borough.
- The south team will be based in Ludlow and Bridgnorth and cover the South Shropshire and Bridgnorth districts.
In addition, a countywide Public Protection team will be based at Shirehall in Shrewsbury, where callers can get help and advice on unfair trading and animal health issues.
The waste management team will also be part of the Public Protection department.
