Shropshire Council is responsible for public toilets at important locations across the county, and ensures that these are kept clean and amenable to use.
All public conveniences are cleaned regularly. The frequency varies from site to site, and depends on the level of use.
Some public toilets in holiday areas are closed outside the peak periods.
Please see the links on this page to find your nearest public toilet.
Public toilets in the Shrewsbury area are looked after by Shrewsbury Town Council. If you have any concerns regarding Shrewsbury's public toilets please contact the Town Council on 01743 281151.
What if I find a toilet in a poor state?
Sadly, in spite of our best efforts, some of our toilets are occasionally damaged by graffiti or other vandalism. If you come across a toilet in a poor state, or are offended by anti-social behaviour in one of our toilets, please let us know by completing the online form on this page or by contacting our Customer Service Centre by the details on this page.
We will remove obscene graffiti promptly, and other graffiti as soon as possible. If repairs are needed, we will arrange for these to be carried out promptly.
The standards you can expect
We try to maintain the highest standards in our public conveniences. We monitor:
- The number of sites provided
- The percentage of these with disabled facilities and baby changing facilities
