Shropshire economic profile

This is the second edition of the Shropshire Economic Assessment. The document contains a wide range of economic and labour market information to provide a comprehensive and current assessment of the economy of Shropshire. The profile gives an in depth analysis of economic trends and developments within the county.

The aim of the profile is to provide an overview of the local economy and labour market, to aid those involved in decision making and policy formation by providing evidence on which to base strategic planning, economic development and learning and skills programmes. This document has been used in particular to support the development of the Shropshire Local Development Framework Core Strategy. It is also a useful information source for businesses existing in the area, and a document to help attract inward investment into the area.

The document details information about Shropshire as a whole, however in addition shorter district sections have also been produced for all five of the Shropshire districts and where possible for the three new unitary areas north, central and south.

We aim to produce this document on an annual basis and further develop and improve over time to ensure that it meets user needs.
