Business Births
- In 2009, Shropshire had 1,025 business births, a rate of 7.9%. This was lower than in the West Midlands (9.5%) and Great Britain (10.2%).
- Within the county, the Central Partnership area had the highest business birth rate of 8.6%.
Business Deaths
- The number of business deaths in the county was 1,260 or 9.7%. The regional rate was 12.1% and the national rate was 12.0%.
- Of the partnership areas, the Southern Partnership Area had the highest business death rate of 10.4%.
