The Intelligence and Research team maintains a Planning Land Use Monitoring System (PLUMS). This system is used to monitor planning applications and local plan allocations for housing, employment, retail and leisure uses within Shropshire, and provides information on development that is taking place in Shropshire.
The information from PLUMS is used by policy planners at Shropshire Council to develop planning policies and monitor structure and local plans under the old planning system, and it will also be used to monitor the new local development frameworks (LDFs). To learn more about the planning system please select the links on this page.
Data from the system is also used to complete returns for West Midlands Regional Monitoring. The information held on PLUMS is used extensively by other council departments, Ordnance Survey, utility companies, planning consultants and members of the public.
