How to complain about a request for information

If you are dissatisfied with the way Shropshire Council has handled a request for information you should initially make a complaint through our usual complaints procedure. Please follow the link on this page to find out how to do this.

If you are unable to resolve your complaint with Shropshire Council, you can make a request for it be considered by the Information Commissioner. In that case, you will need to put your complaint in writing enclosing the following information:

  • a covering letter giving them details of your complaint
  • details of your initial request
  • a copy of Shropshire Council's initial response (known as the Refusal Notice)
  • a copy of the complaint you made to Shropshire Council's internal review or complaints procedure
  • a copy of Shropshire Council's response
  • any other information you think is relevant
  • your contact details

Send your complaint to the address below within 2 months of Shropshire Council's final response.
