Free school meals are awarded for the period covered by your benefit payment. Your entitlement to claim free school meals will be reviewed every 6 months.
Approximately 3-4 weeks before your review date a renewal letter and a pre-printed free school meal application form will be sent to you at the address you have previously given.
Within the renewal letter you will be asked to check your details on the renewal application form and change if not correct. Re-enter your national insurance number, complete your date of birth (if that has not previously been given) and finally date and sign the application form. Proof of your benefit is no longer required.
The renewal application form must be returned to either your child(ren)'s school or direct to us by the date requested within the review letter.
When we receive your renewal for free school meals, your benefit details will be checked and once confirmed your free school meals award will be authorised for a further 6 months.
