Description

The change to waiting restrictions in the locations named within this order will help to avoid danger by providing safer parking and better visibility for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists wishing to use the roads, and/or improve the amenities of the area through which the roads run.

(VARIOUS ROADS, SHREWSBURY) (AMENDMENT) ORDER

Shropshire Council proposes to make the following changes to parking restrictions in Shrewsbury:

a) No Waiting At Any Time restrictions will be placed on:

Alma Street
(North-west side)

From its junction with Mount Street to a point 67 metres North-east of its junction with Mount Street

Anchorage Avenue
(Both sides)

In its entirety

Arlington Way
(South-east side)

From its junction with Featherbed Lane to a point 15 metres North of its junction with Woodvine Road

Arlington Way
(North side)

From a point 97 metres south-east of its North-western most point for a distance of 26 metres in a South-easterly direction.

Berwick Road
(South side)

From a point 20 metres north-west of its junction with Gravel Hill Lane to a point in line with the property boundary of No 43 and 41 Berwick Road

Church Road
(East side)

Across the dropped kerb access for No 9 Church Road (approx. length 5 metres)

Copthorne Road
(North side)

From a point in line with the property boundary of No 46 & 48 to a point in line with the property boundary of No 54 & 56.

Corporation Lane
(West side)

From the northern side of the footpath leading to Coton Mount in a northerly direction to the northern extent of the dropped kerb for the electric substation.

From its junction with Holywell Street for a distance of 11 metres in an easterly direction

b) No Waiting or Loading At Any Time within a Restricted Zone restrictions will be placed on:

Maxfield Drive
(South side)

From its junction with Thrower Road for a distance of 185 metres in an Easterly direction.

Maxfield Drive
(North side)

1)    From its junction with Thrower Road to a point 140 metres East of the junction.

2)    From a point 165 metres East of its junction with Thrower Road for a distance of 20 metres

Thrower Road
(Both sides)

From a point 55 metres South of its junction with Oteley Road to its access with the entrance to the garden centre

 

c) No Waiting or Loading At Any Time restrictions will be placed on:

Conway Drive
(South-west side)

From its junction with Monkmoor Road to a point 52 metres north-west of its junction with Eskdale Road

 

d) No Waiting At Any Time, No Loading Mon to Fri 8.30am to 9.30am & 2.45pm to 3.45pm restrictions will be placed on:

Hemsworth Way
(North side)

From its junction with Ellesmere Road in an Easterly direction to the start of the parking bay

Hemsworth Way
(South side)

Form its junction with Ellesmere Road in an Easterly direction for a distance of 12 metres.

 

e) Loading Only Mon–Sat, 8am to 6pm, 20mins No Return 1 Hour

Maxfield Drive
(North side)

From a point 140 metres East of its junction with Thrower Road to a point 165 metres East of its junction with Thrower Road

Any existing restrictions at the above locations will be revoked.

The proposals for Whitehall Street and Levens Drive will not go ahead at this time.

Arlington Way, Woodvine Road, and Anchorage Avenue have been implemented so far. The restrictions on the remaining roads will be addressed in due course.
