Welcome to the Governor Support and Development Service's (GSDS) website.
The GSDS is committed to providing information, specialist advice and development opportunities in order to enable well-informed and effective governing bodies. Governing bodies play a vital role in raising pupils' achievement and it is the GSDS's aim to improve practice and make governors aware of their role on the governing body as well as their function as a whole. Our administrative support shapes and influences the quality and impact of school governance, resulting in higher standards and the very best opportunities for Shropshire children.
This website runs in tandem with the Shropshire Learning Gateway (SLG). The main aim is for this website to inform anyone who is interested in becoming a governor, and the SLG supports anyone who is already serving as a governor. Hence the majority of documents which have previously been accessed via this site are now located on the SLG. Access to the SLG is password protected and, should you require access, you need to contact the school at which you are a governor for your password.
N.B. The information in the publications accessed through these web pages is accurate, but as Shropshire Council continues to restructure there may be changes to staff, job titles and service references.
