School governors are an unpaid group of hard working people who give freely of their time and energy, committing their varied talents to the service of their schools. They come from a variety of walks of life and do not necessarily have any educational experience. An ideal person would be able to bring energy, varied life experiences and fresh ideas to the role of organising and managing a school. They need no formal qualifications or particular skills but they do need to have time to dedicate to their role. Being a governor is one of the most valuable contributions a person can make to their community and our children's future.
