A five-year strategy is in place for the Supporting People Programme in Shropshire which sets out plans for the delivery of housing-related support. The current strategy is for five years from 2005 to 2010 and it is reviewed annually to make sure targets set are being met by the Shropshire Programme, and it matches any new needs and priorities that have been identified.
In Shropshire, Supporting People is made up of a partnership between the Council, West Mercia Probation and Shropshire County Primary Trust. The strategy is developed and agreed by these partners, working with:
- Providers
- Service Users
- Voluntary Sector
- Youth Offending Service
- Shropshire Partnership
The strategy contains:
- information about services being provided
- details of planned changes
- information about funding for Supporting People services and how more funding might be gained
- information about how services are checked to make sure they provide high quality support
- information about how services will be managed
- recognition of the needs of different groups of people in the county
