Shropshire Council Housing Strategy

The Housing Strategy provides the policy framework for many aspects of housing actions by the Council and other organisations, including:

• Housing provision and affordability – ensuring there are enough houses and at prices people can afford in both public and private sectors
• Housing quality – ensuring ‘decent’ homes in the public and private sectors
• Vulnerable households – supporting people
• Gypsies and travellers – meeting housing needs
• Homelessness – preventing homelessness and providing for homeless households in priority need
• Landlord services – in the social rented sector, comprising Housing Association and Council houses
• Housing options – helping households meet their housing needs
