Homelessness in the case of travellers may not necessarily occur because of a lack of accommodation. For travellers, lack of somewhere to place their caravan may cause homelessness.

Shropshire Council is responsible for the management of five sites for travellers around the county. The five sites are at:

• Cross Houses
• Oswestry
• Prees

Between them these sites can accommodate 36 families.

Availability within these sites varies

• if you are homeless you should contact the Shropshire Council's Housing Options team to make a homeless application.
• if you are a traveller and in need of advice / help with regards your rights to settle, or you are looking to move into more permanent accommodation, please contact the Council's Gypsy Liaison Section:
