Major repairs and planned maintenance
From time to time Shropshire Council Landlord Services may need to gain access to your home to undertake surveys. This could be for a number of reasons:
- prior to major repairs being undertaken
- to inspect a repair
- to service your gas appliances
- to update Council records on the condition of its stock
- to carry out specialist surveys, for example to identify the presence of asbestos containing materials etc
Under your tenancy agreement you must allow us access to your property at any time between 8am and 8pm and at any other time in an emergency.
We will give prior notice where possible.
'Access' also includes moving furniture and lifting carpets to allow repairs and inspections to be undertaken. However we can help if customers need assistance.
Carpets are your responsibility and Landlord Services cannot be held responsible if they have to be lifted or removed to carry out a repair.
Should the Council need to gain access to your property to undertake survey work the surveyor will carry identification or should have a prearranged appointment. Do not allow any person into your home if they do not carry the relevant identification. If you are in any doubt please contact us.
