How to avoid becoming homeless

Homelessness can occur for a number of reasons, but it may be avoided if action is taken before your situation reaches crisis point. The earlier you get advice the less likely you are to become homeless. Talking to your Council or another agency will help you to make contact with an advisor who will make time to go through your list of requirements and options.

If you could be made homeless in the near future, agencies in Shropshire will be able to advise you on your rights and ways in which your situation can be improved. They can also direct you to more specific agencies if you are eligible:

  • Citizens Advice Shropshire
  • Shropshire Housing Alliance (SHA)
  • Shrewsbury Homes For All
