Shropshire householders can insulate their homes for less thanks to a local partnership between Shropshire Council and Keep Shropshire Warm.
Shropshire Council supports Keep Shropshire Warm, a countywide initiative working to tackle fuel poverty within Shropshire households. As part of this partnership, residents can now insulate their homes for less and reduce their fuel bills.
Having already assisted over 6,000 households since its launch in January 2008, Keep Shropshire Warm offers to install loft insulation and cavity wall insulation for local householders at a greatly reduced cost. Home owners and private tenants who pay their Council Tax to Shropshire Council can get cavity wall insulation at £139.00. Loft insulation is also available from either £139 or £199 according to the depth in place. Comprehensive quotations are provided subject to a home survey. Free insulation is still available to eligible home owners or private tenants in receipt of disability or income related benefits or are over the age of 70.
Project Manager for Keep Shropshire Warm, Joanna Meakin states:

Steve Price, Assistant Director for Housing Services at Shropshire Council welcomed the energy saving initiative:
