Shropshire Council recently (January 2010) consulted town and parish councils and stakeholders on two draft documents:
- Urban speed limit policy.
- Rural roads speed limit policy.
Comments received during the consultation process were addressed in the report put forward to cabinet on 20 January 2010.
The Rural Speed Limit Policy has now been approved, following the full Council meeting held on 21 January 2010.
Further consideration of the Urban Speed Limit Policy is in progress in light of some comments received during consultation and that the government is currently reviewing guidance on 20mph limits in urban areas. This will be reported back to Cabinet at a future meeting.
