Farming is an important industry in our rural county. As a result, tractors are a frequent sight on our roads.

Farming and the Public Highway: a Code of Practice outlines how the cooperation of the farming community is vital in helping us to keep our roads safe for all. The code provides information on:

• mud on the highways.
• maintaining ditches and drains.
• maintaining adjacent hedges.
• crop irrigation and smoke.
• agricultural vehicles on the road.
• the use of agricultural road signs.
