Apply for a waiver for parking on waiting restrictions

What is a waiver?

Under certain circumstances, we may allow vehicles to park on restricted areas of the road (i.e. on single or double yellow lines) for a short period of time. If you would like us to waiver restrictions, you will need to apply for permission.

You can apply for a waiver by:

• printing and completing the application form attached to this page and posting it to the relevant Divisional Office (contact addresses are provided on the form).

There are three types of waiver you can apply for.

• To park on single or double yellow lines; these are available free for the first day, and at a cost of £10.00 per day from then on.
• If you regularly need a waiver for an appropriate activity in a limited waiting, pay and display and residents parking bays, then you can apply in advance at a cost of £5.00 per day or £40.00 for 10 days. This would be vehicle specific, but could be used at any time across the county.
• To park outside your own property, then you can apply in advance at a cost of £5.00 per day or £40.00 for 10 days. This type of waiver is valid for any vehicle displaying the waiver, but is location specific.
