If you have a requirement for creating or extending a vehicle access (dropped kerb) in front of your home or business premises, please complete the application form below and return it to Highways Development Control.
Planning permission may be required for the alteration of existing, or provision of new, accesses - this depends on the classification of the road. Please consult the council's Development Management department to establish whether or not planning permission is required for the works prior to completing your application.
Highways approval to create or alter an access is separate to planning permission, and it may be necessary to consult both parties before approval can be granted.
An accredited contractor must be named on the application form before submission.
Please note that there is a charge, details of which can be found on the form. The correct fee must accompany the application.
