The Shropshire Health and Wellbeing Board leads on improving the strategic co-ordination of commissioning across NHS, social care and related children’s and public health services. Its focus will be on achieving the best possible health outcomes for all residents.
Elected councillors (sometimes called members) are central to the decision making process. They attend council meetings where plans, policies and budgets are agreed, serve on committees, policy commissions and other bodies, and are consulted on issues affecting the area they represent.
The board is responsbile for producing the Health and Wellbeing Strategy, which defines the strategic direction of implementation and service delivery for health and wellbeing boards.
The Health and Wellbeing Board cannot deliver this agenda alone. We all need to work together, as individuals, in our families and as part of our communities to look after own health and wellbeing and support those around us.
