Enable manages a Workstep contract on behalf of Shropshire County Council. Workstep is a Jobcentre plus service which helps people with any type of disability into paid open employment of 16 hours a week or more.
The Enable Workstep Employment Officers can help with:
- vocational assessment
- job searching
- and, through the creation of a Development Plan, will identify the types of support that may be needed in the workplace
These can include the funding of training, job coaching, interview advice and other forms of assistance. The Workstep Employment Officers will provide support for an agreed period.
They will work closely with both the employee and the employer to ensure that there is a smooth transition period during which skills are developed and experience increased until the individual can move into unsupported open employment.
