Enable has a team of Employment Support Workers who work across Shropshire, with an excellent track record of helping people find jobs with supportive employers.
For someone with a mental health difficulty wanting to go into work, Enable offers a wide range of individual and innovative support. Our team provides advice on possible career opportunities focusing on a person's abilities and aspirations.
We can help someone find work experience in order to gain recent and relevant employment skills, help with CVs, interview training and in addition we can also offer post employment support.
Other work includes meeting with employers to find suitable job vacancies, liaising with Jobcentre Plus staff (particularly Disability Employment Advisors) and benefits advice to ensure a smooth transition from welfare into work.
Mental health employment workers work very closely with their specialist mental health colleagues within the Community Mental Health Teams, Mental Health Social Inclusion Services, Hospital In-Patient Services and other Mental Health Teams.
Referrals to Enable can only be made through Shropshire’s Mental Health Services (but not from G.P.s) and from Employment Services.
