A man from Telford has returned to work after receiving help from County Training to rebuild his confidence.
Lone parent David Faulkner, 52, from Brookside had been out of work for 11 months, having previously worked as a telephonist and Warehouse Operative.
David said “Due to personal reasons, my confidence was low and I really felt that my age was against me in finding work. I came to County Training in August 2010, looking for help and support.”
David was referred to County Training by Jobcentre Plus on the ESF Flexible Routeway programme.

They also provided a listening service to support me.”
David also achieved a Reach Forklift Licence, Health and Safety in the Workplace and Emergency First at Work qualifications, and also attended a Sales Academy to explore a career in Sales.
In November 2010, David successfully applied for a position as a Warehouse Supervisor at a lighting solutions company in Telford. David’s responsibilities are stock control, loading of delivery vehicles, checking of delivery notes, maintaining computer records and managing a team of three staff.
