Eating food is something we all have in common, yet so often we put our own and other’s health at risk because of how we handle food.
When people are put at risk it usually happens without intention, but one mistake can cost a life and who wants to be held accountable for that.
The law requires proprietors of food businesses to ensure that food handlers engaged in the food business are supervised and instructed and/or trained in food hygiene matters commensurate with their work activity.
Most food poisoning outbreaks are caused by the carelessness or lack of knowledge of the people involved in the food chain. A trained food handler will understand why hygiene is necessary and ensures that good practice is followed.
