Discover Shropshire project

Discover Shropshire is a project, funded through a generous grant from Museums Library and Archive - West Midlands (MLA-WM), to encourage people to find out more about their families and the history of their communities.

There is particular emphasis on engaging young people. It uses web-based technologies and initially two local history centres have been created at Bridgnorth and Oswestry. An important part of the project is to work with a range of partners and to encourage enthusiastic local volunteers to become involved and share their knowledge and skills with others. It will build on other projects managed by Shropshire County Library Service and Shropshire Archives such as Secret Shropshire, Shropshire Routes to Roots and Discovering Shropshire's History.
