Oswestry Library - your comments

A selection of comments made about Oswestry Library appear below. All suggestions and complaints are carefully considered and action is taken to make improvements where these are possible within physical and budgetary constraints. Do you agree with these views? • Very good library, huge improvement on previous one. Shame it’s not open on a Thursday. What action has been taken Opening hours are currently under review.
• Improve non fiction range of books. What action has been taken There are weekly exchanges of books with other libraries but please ask staff if there is a particular subject you would like refreshed.
• As a partially sighted person who depends for her leisure and entertainment on talking books, I find that there is a serious lack of this facility in this library. What action has been taken This library holds a relatively small selection of stock. However, one copy of every new talking book is bought for county stock and can easily be requested from other libraries. Please ask staff to help you order stock.
• On many of my visits there have been large numbers of teenagers being loud and raucous. I feel that the library staff should reprimand them. What action has been taken The library can be noisy, particularly on Saturdays. We welcome young people to the library but we do ask they consider other customers and we have procedures for dealing with over exuberant behaviour. We are currently working with the Youth Service on this issue.
• I think the library layout, staff and facilities are excellent. I come here to study very often.
