Although staff can provide general information about this service, you are responsible for the configuration, virus protection and use of your own equipment. Please note that the Wi-Fi Internet feed is not filtered or secured and other users may be able to see information you are accessing or sending, e.g. credit card details.

Frequently asked questions
How do I connect?
You will need a laptop with a suitable operating system and an enabled wireless card. It should automatically find the wireless frequency and offer to connect you.
How do I register?
Once connected open your Internet browser icon and the Shropshire Libraries Wireless Internet home page will appear. Complete the details on the registration screen to create your unique user name and PIN code.
Please remember to make a note of these as you will need them every time you access the Shropshire Libraries Wireless Internet system. You should also tick the 'Remember me' box on the registration screen.
What are the conditions of use?
All users must agree to comply with the terms and conditions set out in the Shropshire Libraries Acceptable Use Policy. This prohibits abusive or illegal activity while using the library's Internet service. For more information follow the 'Computer use in libraries' link on this page.
Can I plug my laptop into a power socket?
You will need to have had your equipment tested by a qualified electrician who will issue you with a Portable Appliance Test (PAT) certificate. A current certificate must be shown to a member of staff before you plug in.
Will Wi-Fi be available at other libraries?
Depending on the use at these locations, it is anticipated that the network will be extended in the future.
