Here are some of the general comments library customers have made, and how the library responded.
You would like to be able to see what is in stock at all the libraries in Shropshire
There is an online library catalogue available to everyone on the internet and at all libraries. Please follow the navigation button to 'Catalogue and requests' on this page.
You asked that detective stories/science fiction/historical novels are displayed separately
Various experiments have been made to test public reaction. Some people prefer categorisation, others do not. All fiction added to stock now has a “genre” sticker on the spine to indicate the type of book it is. There are also various booklists and guides available that list authors who write in a particular style.
You asked for longer opening hours
At some libraries self-service has been introduced, which means it may be possible for customers to use the library at times when it is not staffed.
You asked if Shropshire libraries were going to provide E-books
A small number of E-books are available for download by authors associated with Shropshire and the West Midlands, or that feature descriptions of the area. For further information, please follow the link on this page to 'E-books from the library'.
