All libraries have material relating to local history. Dedicated Local History Centres are being created in a number of libraries and at present these are at Bridgnorth, Ludlow and Oswestry. Visitors to these centres will be encouraged to experience and understand the past of their families and their communities through the presentation and special display of library, archive and museum material. A wide range of printed and archival resources are available in the centres, including:
Discover the rich heritage of the county by visiting a Local History Centre. It may be the starting point for inspiration and encouragement for you to go further with your own learning and research. Trained local volunteers are on duty at certain times most weeks to assist with local history enquiries.
