Larger libraries have a full range of information resources including:

- maps and street plans
- newspapers.
Shrewsbury Library has the largest collection of information resources, including
- reference books on a wide range of subjects
- largest selection of magazines and newspapers including back copies
- atlases, maps and street plans
- telephone directories for the whole country
- Acts of Parliament and All England law reports
- access to Experian Corporate Researcher, which provides company profiles including accounts, risk information, names and addresses of directors and company/industry comparisons.
The Reference Library building in Shrewsbury closed in April 2011 and it's services were moved into Shrewsbury Library, so providing an integrated library with lending, reference and information services under one roof.
