Crowning Glory

17 February 2012, 10.30am to 11.30am
A craft session in celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, making regal crowns. Join in the design stamp competition and you could win a prize! For children aged 4 to 8 years. Free event.

Whitchurch library has a full range of books for all ages, talking books, DVDs and music CDs. There are also computers for public use with free access to the Internet.

Alternate Tuesdays 10am to 11.30am
Come along and join Joanna our knitting expert and learn new skills, or just call in for a cup of tea and a chat. No need to book, just bring knitting needles and wool. All abilities welcome.

What action has been taken. Shropshire Libraries has introduced this new service to remind people by email when their books are due back.

What you said. The Summer Reading Challenge has been wonderful this year, and has kept my children reading throughout the holidays.
What action has been taken. Shropshire Libraries takes part in the scheme each year, and puts on various events through the school holidays to support the scheme.

What you said. You provide a fantastic request service. My requests arrived in less than a week.
What action has been taken. 78% of requests are supplied in less than 15 days.

What you said. Your book selection for teenagers is wonderful.
What action has been taken. Whitchurch Library has had a lot of new books added to stock recently, which has enhanced the selection available.

The library is home to the Victorian clock that was originally in the Whitchurch and Ellesmere Bank, the workplace of the illustrator Randolph Caldecott, who worked there as a young man before he changed careers and found fame in London and the USA.
