Museum on the Move is an award winning mobile museum that provides access to museum collections for different communities in the county. Every year a new multi-sensory, engaging and interactive exhibition is designed to appeal to all ages.
For school visits there are curriculum links to subject areas for all key stages and the exhibitions are also suitable for students with Special Educational Needs. Two handling boxes of objects accompany the exhibiition and are available for use in the classroom. Museum on the Move is fully accessible to wheelchair users and the two experienced museum interpreters on board are ready to help children get the most from their visit.
Our Changing World - The Dinosaur, the Dodo and the Dormouse
The exhibition in 2011 looked at how the world is continually changing and will consider questions like:
- What species have survived and why some have vanished? - We will examine the process of Extinction
- What causes extinction?
- What can we do now for our threatened species?
We will bring to you an exciting, interactive and engaging exhibition using artefacts and specimens from the museum collections, delivered by our fully trained interpreters.
The vehicle is fully accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities.
