The Shropshire's Museum Development Project Small Grant scheme is designed to help museums and heritage groups in Shropshire(excluding Telford and Wrekin).

Grants are available to both accredited and non-accredited museums (but not hub museums). Priority will be given to accredited museums, museums working towards accreditation or organisations that use the Accreditation Standard as a benchmark for performance.
Applications should be in line with the overall objectives of the Shropshire Museum Development Project, which are to:
- develop closer links between museums
- to improve the skills and knowledge of members and trustees within small local museums
- to raise standards in museums and assist with Museum Accreditation applications and action plans
- to improve links with museums and their local libraries and archives
- to improve access to museum services for people with: disability and learners
- to create a sustainable organisation
Heritage groups, which have a constitution that allows them to hold a collection of artefacts or specimens for public benefit, which is made accessible to the general public at least once a year, may also apply.
