Bring your class to Ludlow Museum Resource Centre for an active learning session led by an experienced museum educator. All sessions have workshop activities in our education room; some use Ludlow town and its environs for further related activities whilst others venture into the collections stored at the centre. In our experience, children learn best through direct contact with real objects and specimens, and there's something for everyone in our schools’ workshop programme brochure.
Schools’ workshop sessions available at Ludlow Museum Resource Centre:
- Life in a Medieval Castle - suitable for KS1
- Medieval & Tudor Ludlow - suitable for KS2
- Rock Detectives - suitable for KS2
- Darwin’s Discoveries KS2/3
Museums hold major sources of primary evidence required for much of the national curriculum. Teachers are invited to work with relevant collections and to make free preliminary visits to our museum sites.
The centre is fully equipped with microscopes and all the specialist equipment needed to undertake serious research.
We can often accommodate small groups of students who are undertaking specific study into costume, textiles, natural history or geology. Please contact us to discuss your ideas and needs.
