Data requests

The Shropshire Ecological Data Network (SEDN) currently holds over 701,889 species records gathered primarily by volunteers. It also holds information on habitats and designated sites. These data sets are still owned by the data providers and are provided free of charge to SEDN. Any fee for data is a non-profit charge for the administration involved. In the case of charities and research groups data may be provided free of charge.

Documents containing any part of the information provided by an enquiry must acknowledge the source as SEDN. Failure to do so may result in delays if the data is used in planning applications.

Enquiries about species and protected sites should be made by emailing: teds@telford.gov.uk

For very complex data request or where advice from specialist species experts is required the Shropshire Wildlife Trust will forward the enquiry to the appropriate expertise within SEDN.
