The centre provides services for older people living in north east Shropshire from Welshampton in the west and Hodnet in the south, including the market towns of Market Drayton, Wem and Whitchurch and their satellite villages.
The centre is a purpose built facility for older people in the grounds of Whitchurch Community Hospital, where a full range of health and social care services can be provided to give a convenient and truly person-centred service.
Between 22 and 24 service users can attend each week-day. There is a different group each day and some people attend for more than one day a week.
Bradbury Day Centre can offer
- day care for 5 days a week, Monday to Friday. Open from 9am to 5pm.

- access to medical and allied professional services
- organised trips using the centre minibus to give opportunities otherwise unavailable to those living in the rural area.
- opportunities to take up new or rediscover forgotten hobbies and interests
- private gardens and a choice of lounges
- commitment to Healthy Eating by the provision of well cooked and nutritionally balanced meals. (Special diets catered for)
- transport to and from the centre can be provided from people’s homes in north east Shropshire.
Great care has been taken to give access to profoundly disabled people. The inclusion of a hydrotherapy pool, treatment room, physiotherapy department and conference room have resulted in Bradbury Day Centre being a valuable community resource.
Working with the Community, we offer you the following facilities:
- community physiotherapy
- a district nursing and specialist nursing services
- a community information service
- a base for health, social care and allied professionals to meet and train
- a meeting room for community organisations e.g. U3A, Alzheimer’s support group, Stroke club
- hydrotherapy for WOSPS (Whitchurch opportunities for special people), Arthritis Care groups and local care homes for Adults with learning difficulties.
Bradbury Day Centre has formed strong links with the North East Shropshire Rehabilitation Team (NESrT). The day centre offers a base for therapy input from the NESrT team and the service users are able to attend the day centre as part of their programme.
