What are Community Strategies?
Separate Community Strategies have been established by Shropshire County Council and five district/borough councils, Bridgnorth, North Shropshire, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Atcham and South Shropshire county’s local authorities.
These local authorities have worked closely with community groups, the police and fire service, health and education authorities and other partners to develop strategies for the next 10 years and beyond.
The aim is to identify and understand the needs of specific areas – just as the LSP identifies and understands the needs of the county as a whole – before deciding how best to meet those needs.
Behind this activity lies a philosophy of joined-up thinking. The partnerships involve local communities. They harness their ideas, enthusiasm, commitment and energy. They maximise and focus resources where they will do the greatest good.
The Integrated Community Strategy booklet (available as a downloadable pdf document) outlines the community strategies. Please contact Shropshire Partnership or click on this link
