The county council has prepared a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) explaining how it intends to involve the community in the preparation of new planning documents and the consideration of planning applications.
Following on from representations made on the submitted version of the Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) in November and December 2005, and the submission of these representations to an appointed Planning Inspector for examination, the council received the Inspector's binding report on the 18 April 2006. The Inspector concluded that subject to certain changes the SCI was a sound document.
After making the relevant changes to the document recommended by the Inspector, the council formally adopted the Statement of Community Involvement on 12 May 2006.
The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) now forms part of the county council's Minerals and Waste Development Framework.
