Shropshire County Council determines planning applications for minerals and waste development and for proposals by the County Council's own services (education, highways, social services etc).

All other planning applications in Shropshire are determined by one of the county's five borough / district councils whose website addresses are listed in the 'useful websites' section on this page. The County Council provides a range of other services which have significant relevance to our planning work. In particular, the Sustainability group provides a comprehensive evidence base which assists us in preparing planning policies and making planning decisions.
