Shropshire Core Strategy Final Plan Publication

The Final Plan version of the Shropshire Core Strategy has now been published by Shropshire Council. Representations on the 'soundness' of the plan are invited from Monday 15 February until 5.30pm Monday 29 March 2010

The Core Strategy Development Plan Document (DPD) sets out the strategic planning policy for Shropshire, including a spatial vision and objectives. It also sets out a development strategy which identifies the level of development expected to take place within Shropshire up until 2026 and a number of Core Policies which will help to achieve the vision. All subsequent LDF documents produced will build upon the Core Strategy.

The representations you make must relate to the ‘soundness’ of Core Strategy Final Plan Publication document and must be received by Shropshire Council before 5.30pm on Monday 29 March 2010 in order to be considered. The Representations Form and Guidance Notes on how to make representations are available to download on this page.

The representations received will be sent to an independent Planning Inspector in preparation for the Examination in Public following the submission of the Core Strategy to the Secretary of State in summer 2010.

Correction to document
It has come to the council's attention that the Core Strategy Final Plan includes an error on page 25 concerning the description of the South Spatial Zone. Please see the correct text for page 25 by selecting the relevant attachment on this page.

Evidence Base
The Final Plan Publication Core Strategy has been informed by a wide range of evidence base material at the regional, sub-regional, county and local level. An evidence base webpage has also been prepared which you can access via the link on this page where you can view and download evidence base material. A table listing the evidence, including links to where the documents are located is available on this page.

Earlier Stages
The Core Strategy has been in preparation during 2008 and 2009 and has been through several stages of public consultation, including:

• Policy Directions - August 2009

These earlier documents are available to view on this page for information purposes. The public responses received on these consultations have been used in the preparation of the Final Plan Publication Core Strategy.
