What kind of planning applications does Shropshire County Council deal with?
The County Council deals with planning applications for minerals and waste, and developments relating to the County Council's own services such as education and social services. All other planning applications in Shropshire are determined by the relevant district or borough councils (see also note on local government change below).

Planning appeals
An applicant can appeal against the decision by the County Council to refuse an application, or against conditions that the council impose on a planning permission. An appeal can also be made if the application is not decided within a set timescale. For guidance on appeals procedures see the attachment on this page. For more detailed information select the link to 'Planning appeals' on the menu bar to the left.
At the current time Shropshire County Council is not dealing with any planning appeals. Details of a recent appeal against a decision to refuse a planning application for an on-farm composting facility at Wootton Farm, Queens Head near Oswestry can be viewed via the 'planning appeals' page.
Planning legislation does not provide for the submission of planning appeals in respect of applications for County Council development proposals.
Monitoring and enforcement

Local government change
